First, try some boiling water. Simply fill a tea kettle with water and boil it. You then slowly and carefully pour the boiling water on the drain of the kitchen sink. Just keep on pouring the hot water. Whenever the water on the sink slowly drains and empties, pour more hot water. Keep doing this until you think the water is draining normally. The reason for using hot water is that the thing causing the clog could just some food residue, dry toothpaste or hardened beauty and hair products which can be easily dissolved by running hot water. It is also advisable that even if you are not encountering any problems with your kitchen sink drain, you still have to keep pouring hot water on it every month or so to prevent things from accumulating and drying on the drain.
Second, baking soda and vinegar are very effective tools in fixing clogged kitchen sinks. The procedure is pretty simple. Just get hold of a half fill cup of baking soda and pour it on the drain. Follow it with a half filled cup of vinegar. That’s it. You then wait for a few hours for the baking soda and vinegar to mix and get their jobs done. After that, you can pour running water or even better, hot water over the drain to see the results.
Third, if however you believe that it’s grease that is causing the problem on the drain, use salt, baking soda and boiling water instead. The same procedure is use, just use salt as a substitute to vinegar.
